Lately: January

Just like that, all the snow and ice are gone. Once the rain began and the weather shot up to the 40s, the snow was gone in about 24 hours and that winter wonderland we had now feels like a dream. Did it really happen?
We're happy to see our daffodil shoots didn't die! They popped up around Thanksgiving, and thankfully are hardy enough to stay alive the rest of the winter.

Celia's often outside taking photos these days. She tinkers with my good camera and has a good eye for interesting compositions. Maybe I'll post some soon. :)

She looks much too old here. (Slow down! Stop growing up!)

Miss Cora was home sick on Friday, but finished the last lessons in her "reading book", the book we've used to teach three kiddos now how to read and start by combining sounds - Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons. We love this book!

We've been tiling the kitchen (with lots of help from Celia), but with us both gone quite a bit (tax season and church work for Travis and me? volunteering, keeping four kids alive...), only a small section gets done every couple of days or so. It's taking foreeeeeverrr... We just need to stay up late a couple of nights and pound it out, but we're too exhausted, haha! I'll post updated pics when it's all done!

BUT it's going to look GREAT!! :)

Joined Celia and her cute friends for a 5th grade field trip the other day...I don't think the play was quite appropriate for kids, even 10 year olds, but it was a fun trip nonetheless.

And this kid? After we finish our art discovery classes, we hightail it to the store and the library, almost every day. And then it's lunch, coloring, and Lego building at home. For hours. :)

He is so fun to spend my days with! It won't be this way much longer...
