The kids were SO good this year - they didn't get up at 3am!! They didn't even bug us to open presents until 7:30! It was great. :) Here's the mess we came downstairs to:
They were happily playing, creating, or coloring away, etc.
We like to unwrap the sibling gifts first.
Cora and Madsen had each other - he gave her a mini glass creature (which she loves to collect) and she had the brilliant idea to print out Harry Potter bookmarks for him.
Bowen and Celia had each other, so he picked out a journal and pens for her, and she wrapped up an airplane that clips onto his bike or scooter.
I think you could say he loved it. :)
Then the REAL unwrapping got started! Bowen is the best to watch - he shakes from anticipation, opening the gifts as fast as he can. It's more fun for us to WATCH than it is for him to OPEN.
And THIS was a big deal for Miss Cora this year - an American Girl doll!! She was pretty excited. ;)
He'd do a happy dance with his feet, waiting for Dad to open his gift. :)
That little dance again...
A quick pic of the kids by the tree before church:
And their ornaments for the year: Celia - a violin, Madsen - a football, Cora - a soccer girl, and Bowen - Paw Patrol. All things that were new for them this year (or in Bowen's case, are obsessed with). ;)
And a post-church family photo, a rare occurrence indeed! We are so grateful during this season and every season throughout the year for our Savior, that babe born in Bethelehem.
Merry Christmas!
